Clark County Crime News Sources
Start with the official channels. The Clark County Sheriff's Office, Jeffersonville Police, Clarksville Police, Sellersburg Police, Indiana MyCase, and VINE/SAVIN each answer a specific question about records or custody status. None of them offers a daily booking feed. CCSO publishes no web roster, no mugshot gallery, and no current most-wanted list. Jeffersonville's Daily Incident Log tracks calls and preliminary events rather than actual bookings, and the other departments have no public arrest feed either.
Local newsrooms cover some of that ground, though none acts as an official roster. The News and Tribune in Jeffersonville runs dedicated Police/Fire and Courts sections, WAVE maintains a Clark County topic page, and WDRB operates a regional Crime Reports desk. A story may name the agency involved, cite an affidavit, or even carry a jail image. What gets published is an editor's choice, and the timing is irregular.
The best of these outlets is the News and Tribune Police/Fire section.

Read it for context, though. The section gives story depth, not a name-by-name list of everyone booked into the Clark County Jail.
Clark County News Outlet Comparison
Every outlet here serves a different geography and purpose. Keep one caveat in mind. The "Photos?" column means images sometimes appear in particular stories, not that a source keeps a standing mugshot gallery.
| Outlet | Coverage | Photos? | Where |
|---|---|---|---|
| CCSO and city police | Official releases, records, and preliminary incident information | Sometimes in selected releases | Agency sites and official posts |
| News and Tribune | Jeffersonville and Clark County police, fire, jail, and courts | Sometimes, including scene or agency images | Police/Fire and Courts sections |
| WAVE 3 | Exact Clark County topic covering all three mapped places | Sometimes, with source credit | Clark County topic page |
| WDRB | Regional cases involving Jeffersonville, Clarksville, or Sellersburg | Sometimes | Crime Reports desk |
| Busted Newspaper | Unofficial Clark route observed as stale | Booking cards shown there | Secondary historical discovery only |
| Other named aggregators | No verified current Clark-local section | Not established for Clark | Do not treat generic or wrong-state results as local |
The WAVE's Clark County topic page often posts several county stories a week, occasionally more than one in a single day. That pace reflects editorial judgment. It says nothing about how many people the jail actually booked or when.

The county-specific label does help. It keeps Indiana stories from getting mixed up with Clark counties in nearby states. Still, any story you find there needs to be verified through the official record.
How Clark County Photos Reach News
How does a booking photo end up in the paper? A reporter might get one with a police or sheriff release, pull it through a records request, or use an image credited to the Clark County Jail. Other stories run scene photos, maps, court exhibits, or nothing at all. Indiana has no statute specifically governing mugshot publication or pay-to-remove schemes. Access depends on the state's Access to Public Records Act, IC 5-14-3, along with confidentiality, court-access, expungement, and juvenile rules.
Juvenile records get separate treatment under Indiana law. Careful outlets may leave a young person's image out of a story even when they report the event itself.
Trace Clark County Stories Officially
A news story is really a set of leads. It gives you a full name, an event date, a location, the agency, the alleged conduct, and often a court or jail reference. Hang onto both dates. The day the article ran and the day the incident happened are frequently different. From there, take what you have to the agency that created the record.
- Identify the agency and place. Determine whether CCSO, Jeffersonville Police, Clarksville Police, Sellersburg Police, Indiana State Police, or another agency handled the event.
- Check present custody. Clark County has no public web roster or recent-booking feed. VINE/SAVIN can provide custody status and confidential notifications, while CCSO can address jail records.
- Request the booking material. Ask CCSO Records for a narrow date and person. Name the booking record and photograph separately because the sheriff does not display them online.
- Open the court case. Search Indiana MyCase by party name or cause number, confirm Clark County and matching details, and read the full chronological case summary.
- Follow the disposition. Look for prosecutor-filed counts, hearings, orders, dismissal, plea, judgment, sentence, and later activity. Contact the Clark County Clerk if a public document is missing online.
The full process for absence requests and record requests is laid out in the Clark County booking feeds and records treatment. A person named in a story might be freshly booked, still held in county custody, released while a case moves forward, or transferred to the Indiana Department of Correction. Each status is distinct. IDOC can confirm sentenced state custody, but it is not the source for county booking photos.
Clark County Blotters Are Selective
Clark County has no official same-day, 48-hour, 72-hour, or weekly booking feed, and that changes how any news search plays out. Jeffersonville's "Today," seven-day, 30-day, 70-day, and custom-date incident views describe calls and preliminary events. They cannot tell you an arrest happened, that someone entered the jail, or that a mugshot exists. Clarksville and Sellersburg offer no comparable public arrest log.
The newsrooms do not close that gap either. A busy week of headlines can all trace back to one big case, while a quiet page may hide dozens of routine bookings. Editorial cadence measures how often an editor posts, not how often law enforcement books someone. For a true date-by-date search, you need a narrow daily-log request or a records request to the arresting agency or CCSO.
The News and Tribune Courts section can add the later court developments an arrest story never caught.

Even court reporting picks and chooses. For the official case record, MyCase and the Clerk remain the paths that count.
Unofficial Clark County Mugshot Sources
Beyond official records and local news, third-party sites publish Clark County booking photos with mixed results. Busted Newspaper does maintain a real Clark County, Indiana section, though its top cards have carried 2018 dates under a "most recent" label, so treat it as a stale archive rather than a live feed. Mugshots.com shows only an outdated legacy layout. Recently Booked's Indiana listings skip Clark County entirely, Arrests.org offers no verified Indiana Clark page, and Mugshots.zone bounces a Clark County route back to a generic homepage.
Name confusion is the bigger trap. Search hits can land on Clark County, Ohio, or Clark County, Kentucky, and Louisville-area news crosses the state line freely. Before matching an entry to anyone, confirm three things: Indiana, Clark County, and the booking date plus the source agency. Commercial pages also change without notice. Entries vanish, get corrected, or sit stale. They cannot confirm current custody or a court outcome, and their page counts are not arrest statistics.
Clark County City News Paths
Jeffersonville gets the widest local coverage. News and Tribune is based there. The Jeffersonville Police Department also posts its own preliminary incident log. Clarksville stories most often run through WAVE. News and Tribune and WDRB pick up selected notable events from the town. Sellersburg follows a similar pattern: WAVE and News and Tribune carry its stories, while WDRB adds regional cases. Neither Clarksville nor Sellersburg maintains a dedicated arrest blotter or mugshot page.
An arrest in these cities reaches county jail only under certain conditions. The Michael L. Becher Adult Correctional Complex becomes the booking destination when the person is actually admitted. Citations, releases, youth processing, medical diversion, or state and federal custody all follow other routes. Match city reporting to the agency and custody path before assuming a county-jail booking.
